Empire State Lyme Disease Association, Inc.

To Be Announced
An open forum Lyme Support Group Meeting

At the Guilderland Public Library

2228 Western Avenue, Guilderland, NY

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection principally transmitted through the bite of ticks. Ticks also can transmit a number of other serious diseases, such as Babesia, Bartonella, Anaplasma, and Ehrlichia. These infections can attack any of the body's systems, and can manifest in many different forms in different victims, including severely effecting the musculoskeletal system, creating severe pains in the joints, disrupting sleep, disturbing the digestive system, and many more. Frequently misdiagnosed and widely misunderstood, Lyme disease, in particular, has reached epidemic levels in the eastern part of New York State, including sections of the Capital Region.
The Open Forum format encourages participants to raise questions, exchange ideas and experiences, make connections, and locate resources, drawing from the extensive experience of the other support group members.

Anyone with questions about Lyme disease is welcome to attend.

Meetings are free and open to the public.
