Treatment of Chronic Lyme-51 Case Reports by  Burton A Waisbren Sr. MD is a founding member of the Infectious Disease Society

People in the field of Lyme disease research believe that this new book may be the most important Lyme disease book ever written

What sets this book apart from other Lyme-related books are the credentials of the physician who wrote it: Dr. Burton Waisbren, MD, FACP, FIDSA, has been practicing medicine for over 57 years, and has published research on Lyme disease in prestigious journals such as The Lancet. In this book, he shares the treatment strategies and protocols that he utilized in 51 cases of chronic Lyme disease, and presents essays containing his professional analysis of the cases.

But Dr. Waisbren's credentials and experience go much further. Not only is Dr. Waisbren a current Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), he is also one of its founding members! Why does this matter? The IDSA is a prestigious physicians' society that has generally taken the position that chronic Lyme disease is not a scientifically-proven medical condition, or at least, that it should not be treated with long-term antibiotics in most circumstances.

Many believe that the IDSA's position on this issue has negatively impacted the credibiltiy of Lyme disease physicians who desire to help their patients with chronic Lyme disease. The IDSA's policies have drawn fire from numerous important people, including politicians like Richard Blumenthal, a United States Senator from Connecticut and former Connecticut Attorney General.

Dr. Waisbren's new book, Treatment of Chronic Lyme Disease: 51 Case Reports and Essays in Their Regard, explains that chronic Lyme disease is, in fact, a real medical condition which demands appropriate and aggressive treatment. This landmark book, which originates from one of the founding members of the IDSA itself,  is an important step in helping Lyme sufferers gain recognition, a voice, and vindication in their desire to get healed, recover, and live normal lives. In addition to the credibility that this doctor brings to the Lyme disease community, you will also find important treatment strategies and meticulous documentation inside the book.

With over 57 years experience in medicine, Dr. Waisbren's methodologies for managing chronic Lyme disease will be useful to everyone involved in Lyme disease treatment, including patients, physicians, and researchers.

As a result of this doctor's credentials and credibility, this book can be used to educate your family, friends, and local physician(s) about the realities of chronic Lyme disease. Never before has a book been available from such a reliable, authoritative source. You can buy multiple copies of the book at a discount to give away. Whether you order just one copy, or multiple copies, the book has been priced affordably so that everyone can own it and share this important message about chronic Lyme disease.

By reading this book, you will have the chance to go behind the scenes in Dr. Waisbren's medical clinic and discover the treatments he uses to fight chronic Lyme disease. With an engaging and informative writing style, you will learn about 51 of Dr. Waisbran's chronic Lyme disease patients, the treatments he used for them, and their clinical outcomes (when available). You will also read eleven essays by Dr. Waisbren covering a wide range of topics and ideas. Buy the book to discover the following information:

  • Which antibiotics and combinations of antibiotics Dr. Waisbren uses with his patients.
  • Dr. Waisbren's theories on chronic Lyme disease and related medical conditions such as ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, and others.
  • Mirco-organisms involved in chronic Lyme disease and their antimicrobial susceptibilities, including Bartonella, Babesia, Ehrlichia, and others.
  • The use of Gamma Globulin in the treatment of chronic Lyme disease.
  • The kinds of studies that are desperately needed for more understanding of chronic Lyme disease.
  • IV vs. oral antibiotics.
  • Lyme disease testing methods.
  • Dr. Waisbren's experience treating Bartonella and various novel approaches to managing it, with references to international Bartonella studies.
  • Many more topics!

A book said to belong in the library of every Lyme disease doctor, researcher and patient and discover the expertise and wisdom of a doctor who has been practicing medicine for 57+ years, and who is one of the Founding Members of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA).

GERMS by NY Times reporters Judith Miller, Stephen Engelberg, William Broad
Subtitle: Biological Weapons and America's Secret War

However, it is not only America's Secret War, the book tells about supposed stockpiles of weapons grade germs in many countries.  It makes sense that scientists and scientific departments in our government who have the burden of trying to keep us "safe" - would do many experiments regarding germ warfare especially when one considers that scientists in other countries were doing similarly like having nuclear weapons - if all have them, "they" say we will be safe because everyone will be afraid to use them in the first place, for fear of retaliation.
One would wonder what the thinking is with weapons grade germs?  Then another question is how is it that no major catastrophes have happened yet?
Or is the key word, YET?
Lyme and tick-borne disease are catastrophic for many people, but although there are a few pages in GERMS about Lyme disease, in this book, there is no definitive answer to the question - "is it or is it not or has it or has it not been made into a weapons grade organism or genetically modified in some way in a laboratory."

Although this use is widespread in the United States , the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved albendazole for this indication. It is marketed by GlaxoSmithKline . Albendazole was first discovered at the SmithKline Animal Health Laboratories in 1972. It is a broad spectrum anthelmintic, effective against: roundworms, tapeworms, and flukes of domestic animals and humans. Main uses It is effective (first line of treatment) against: item Nematodes Other uses Discarded bottles of albendazole distributed in Africa In Africa , albendazole (donated by GlaxoSmithKline ) is being used to treat lymphatic filariasis as part of efforts to stop transmission of the disease . In sub-Saharan Africa , albendazole is used in conjunction with ivermectin , and elsewhere in the world, the medicine is used in combination with diethylcarbamazine . In Brazil and other countries it is used against giardiasis . Mode of action As a vermicidal, albendazole causes degenerative alterations in the tegument and intestinal cells of the worm by binding to the colchicine -sensitive site of tubulin , thus inhibiting its polymerization or assembly into microtubules. The loss of the cytoplasmic microtubules leads to impaired uptake of glucose by the larval and adult stages of the susceptible para...

The book Politics in Healing by Daniel Haley

http://cts.vresp.com/c/?BioMedPublishingGrou/e20de255e4/fa03899536/a851e12456Back by popular demand! After several years out of print, this famous book is now available again. Written by Daniel Haley, a former New York State Assemblyman, the book is uniquely able to tell the story of the damage that greed and political influence has wrought on our nation's healthcare alternatives. Haley gathers 12 medical outsiders' stories to support his theory that the AMA, FDA, and big pharmaceutical companies conspire to prevent new ideas from entering medical research and practice. His subjects include Andrew Ivy, who advocated the discredited anticancer drug Krebiozen; anticancer herbalist Harry Hoxsey; anticancer blood researcher Gaston Naessens; and antineoplastin researcher Stanislaw Burzynski.  Those persecuted medical investigators are fairly well known, but some of Haley's other cases concern forgotten men like William Koch, developer of the antipolio drug Glyoxylide, whom many may find more interesting because of their obscurity...   Excerpt from book review by William Beatty, American Library Association

To assess the economic impact of Lyme disease (LD), the most common vectorborne inflammatory disease in the United States, cost data were collected in 5 counties of the Maryland Eastern Shore from 1997 to 2000. Patients were divided into 5 diagnosis groups, clinically defined early-stage LD, clinically defined late-stage LD, suspected LD, tick bite, and other related complaints. From 1997 to 2000, the mean per patient direct medical cost of early-stage LD decreased from $1,609 to $464 (p<0.05), and the mean per patient direct medical cost of late-stage LD decreased from $4,240 to $1,380 (p<0.05). The expected median of all costs (direct medical cost, indirect medical cost, nonmedical cost, and productivity loss), aggregated...

NOTE: Education and information can help patients and their doctors, especially since we are in the infancy of tick borne diseases and dealing with an ongoing controversy about Lyme and associated diseases.  We need to see books tracking individual cases of chronic Lyme disease, books on emerging tick borne diseases, books on Lyme Induced Autism, and books on misdiagnosis of Lyme as ALS, MS, fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and so on.
